Fears, Anxieties & Phobias
I know everyone on here is well ard' so this may be a short thread, however I will ask anyway.

Do you have any Fears, Anxieties & Phobias?

I'm fine with dentists
I'm fine with injections
I'm fine with flying
So usual common stuff I am good with....

My one no no is sea travel, river cruises, trip to Alcatraz, pedalos on hols etc fine ... No actual fear of water and a good swimmer BUT my fear is actual SEA TRAVEL especially the open ocean. It doesn't even have to be rough seas it's the thought of seclusion with nowhere to go.

I went on the Canberra cruise ship back in 82 with parents and was fine (I was very young) but my fear probably comes from a crossing from Harwich in 2002 where it was force 9 and I was sure we were done for.

My parents have been in a force 11 on a cruise liner and also thought their time was up.

Since my experience and hearing about theirs I will not travel by sea yet I will get on a plane as if it was a bus ride

Next ....chicken. No matter how much I trust someone or if it's a reputable restaurant I won't eat chicken out. This stems from having salmonella and being hospitalised in 2005. Since then I will only eat chicken if my Mum cooks it (or me) and WILL NOT touch it at friends BBQs etc.

Probably got a few more but for now YOU CUNTS?

No fears of the sea, I worked on cruise ships for ten years but one phobia that HAS crept up on me is tube station platforms, I can't stand on them, I have to wait round the corner until the train comes in then run to it, I never used to have that phobia, I just can't explain it

Heights. I hate them. Even watching the view from a tall bridge on TV gives me the shudders.

I was in a force 9 storm on the Harwich to Esbjerg ferry when I was about 12. Never been so sick since. Its in my head when I am on a boat after 30 minutes

Spiders and a bit claustrophobic

Giving formal presentations. I'm OK once up and running but all through the preparation & right up until I start I'm checking, double checking and triple checking everything.

Yet, in a casual setting, exactly the same subject matter, quite often actually the same audience, absolutely no worries.

Tight spaces -

Once cracked the windshield on my parents' car when we were horsing around, waiting, and got into position that I felt trapped. Kicked out - there you go.
